O Carpenter

You speak of seeds scattered

soil quality

birds and thorns and rocks

the nature of words comprehended

You speak stories around crowds

watching

waiting

patient for these Imago Dei to catch your meaning

to let roots of understanding

grow deep into the soil of the hearts you've cultivated

capturing the imagination

transforming wonder into will 

will to understand ideas that transform

Seeds of comprehension come from the mind of the creator

    will its roots find rich soil?

Carpenter, you crafted my heart -- cells, tissue, blood and vessels

let this word You speak

a seed planted into my spirit, transform it from within

and bear fruit for which I was created

I receive Your words of life

make life in me.
